WHAT TO DO AND SEE IN THE REGION
Cabo San Juan de Guia
Located in Tayrona Park, Cabo San Juan de Guia, is one of the major destinations in the Caribbean and therefore a major tourist destination.
Pueblito is a former Tayrona town located in the Parque Tayrona. This is a small and more accessible version of the Lost City. Nowadays small Kogui families life in and around pueblito.
-The lost City-
Also called "Teyuna" and built around 800yrs AD by the Tayronas (long before the Spanish arrived and some 650 years before Machu Pichu)
It's called Quebrada Valencia, but is a collection of waterfalls falling into small and big ponds. We consider it to be a magnificent construction by nature and the best time to visit is right after the rainy season.
With a stretch of 4 kms of breathtaking landscape, the Nuguanje beach prides itself in being one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire area. The swell is calm at either ends of the beach and stronger in the center. It is an ideal place to rest. The outline of the hills that seem to originate from the sea, generates an overwhelming environment of isolation. Neguanje in ancestral indigenous language means "sea of deep and crystalline waters".
Cabo de la Vela
Located in the Guajira, in the desert region of Colombia and with an adjacent small fishing village, Cabo de la Vela (Cape of Sails) is a very well visited destination by tourists.
This is a small beach and mountain town located in the Guajira region, half way between Santa Marta and Riohacha.
Buritaca is a less touristic version from Palomino. The beach of Buritaca is similar to the one in Palomino, with less accommodation possibilities.
Minca is a town located 600 mtrs above the sea level and 1 hour away from Santa Marta. Its famous for bird watching and organic coffee plantations. It is a very important tourist destination around Santa Marta.
